"A Tribute to Margaret" Pressed Flower Mandala by Janet Tam London

The word mandala originates from Sanskrit and translates as "sacred circle." C.J. Jung believed that working with mandalas helps nudge us to fulfill our possibilities and offers us timeless wisdom and spiritual understanding. Each time we color a mandala, we invite more harmony into our lives. In both the class and workshop there will be time to explore the personal meaning of the mandala designs you color and receive helpful feedback from the group. You will also learn about color symbolism and how to use it for growth and self-healing. There will be a variety of mandala designs to choose from.

Mandala Class
by Jill Cobb

The meaning of a circle,
a womb, a place for growth,
a room with no corners or edges,
a place where people come together
and are equal and free,
a place where jewel tones are apparent and shine;
pattern, design and order.
A labyrinth where you travel
but never get lost,
always a road home.

Consciousness Mandala

The central dark blue represents the unconscious. The deep blue tendrils are reaching out to become apparent to consciousness. The dots have the feeling of being the Universe. The fluid yellow and orange ribbons have unknown meanings. This was the beginning exercise to give form and focus to an empty circle.

Below is another design by Betsy Lewis. Read her revealing and insightful comments under the mandala...

Truth Mandala

While I was struggling to resolve a difficult personal issue, I began drawing mandalas. The ones that emerged initially were confusing and disorganized. Later I was able to become quieter and hear my inner truth speaking to me and guiding me in my decision. This is the mandala I drew after this process and I call it simply "Truth".
